When can Government organisations and law enforcement agencies share data and for what purposes?

 In News & Fraud

The ability to legally share personal data with and between UK Government departments, law enforcement agencies or regulated private companies is absolutely crucial in the fight against financial and organised crime.

In order to address the challenges of sharing data between these bodies, Synalogik commissioned Dr. Sam Bourton, lecturer in Law, Financial Crime and Regulation at Bristol Law School, University of the West of England; Nic Ryder, a Professor in Financial Crime, School of Law and Politics, Cardiff University; and Dr. Fiona Brimblecombe, a lecturer in Law, Manchester University, to examine the issues in a detailed briefing paper.

Watch the video below, where they are joined by Alex Chalk MP, KC, who is the former Solicitor General for England and Wales, Chris Nelson, Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire and our Co-Founder, Daniel White, to discuss their findings.

Alternatively go straight to the briefing paper.
